Dr. Robert Pollack, the COO of Psychiatric Associates of Southwest Florida (PASWFL) in Fort Myers, provides therapy for those 18 and older. The clinic offers ketamine therapy in both IV and nasal spray form. Patients often suffer from severe or chronic depression, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-partum depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

At Psychiatric Associates of Southwest Florida, Dr. Robert Pollack and his staff tailor treatment plans, understanding there is no one-size-fits-all approach to mental health. The typical course of treatment involves 6-8 ketamine infusions over the course of a predetermined timeline.

This type of alternative treatment is gaining popularity, with psychedelics for depression continuing to show promise. But remember to discuss options with professionals, and always avoid self-medicating with these powerful drugs.

What to Expect

You do not need to be an existing patient at PASWFL. If you are not currently a patient, Dr. Pollack will meet with you to discuss your medical history and to determine if ketamine treatment is right for you.

Psychiatric Associates of Southwest Florida discourages eating or drinking anything for four hours before your scheduled appointment. Clear liquids are allowed up to two hours before your appointment.

You won’t be able to drive afterward, so plan on bringing someone to drive you home.

All treatments are performed at PASWFL’s office. Some patients feel an improvement after their first infusion, some patients feel an improvement after they complete their full treatment plan (usually of 6-8 infusions) and some patients may need to go through multiple treatment plans. It’s best to ask Dr. Pollack directly after he’s had a chance to familiarize himself with your medical history.
