Field Trip Health’s Toronto, Ontario location is one of the few psychedelic medicine clinics in Canada, located in the downtown of the city. At the clinic, Field Trip’s team of experts offer low-dose Esketamine ketamine therapy, combined with traditional psychiatric treatments, to heal “tough-to-beat mental health conditions.” Each of the 2-3 hour psychedelic sessions is accompanied by psychotherapy integration sessions. During these sessions assist clients in understanding the changes and improvements suggested by the experience. While offering a “spa-like space,” and a wide assortment of resources online, Field Trip Toronto provides clients with a safe, welcoming setting in which to explore and repair disruptive mental health challenges.
Field Trip’s Toronto team boasts a number of highly-qualified professionals, many of whom have had extensive training and experience in the use of psychedelic medicines. Psychiatrist Dr. Leora Pinhas is also an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto, while Medical Director Dr. Michael Verbora, a graduate of Western University, brings with him a passion for furthering knowledge of holistic healing. The team is balanced out by psychotherapists, social workers, nurses, and support staff (as well as a licensed hypnotherapist!), all geared toward creating a welcoming, and individualized, plan for recovery.
Frequency of treatment programs is dictated by the client’s unique circumstances, but will run approximately 3-4 weeks. Beginning with a preparation session, clients and their health-care providers establish a working relationship and set down goals to be met through therapy. This is followed by a psychedelic session, starting off with low doses and increasing only if as assessment calls for higher doses.
Immediately following the psychedelic session, clients will sit with a therapist and explore the experience. Finally, in an integration session, therapist and client engage in utilizing what has been discovered in the psychedelic session in order to facilitate healing.
Field Trip Toronto’s combination of cutting-edge and traditional psychotheraputic practices helps those suffering from mental health issues that are resistant to mainstream treatments. As such, although safe, psychedelic therapy does involve risks to those suffering from some pre-existing conditions. The Field Trip team will assess, based on your health history, whether or not ketamine therapy is useful and safe. Ketamine therapy, and psychedelic therapy more generally, is for those who have not seen desired benefits from mainstream medical practices, and for those seeking positive change in their lives.
