Ketamine therapy treatments at the West Coast Ketamine Center clinic are supervised by both a board-certified anesthesiologist and a board-certified psychiatrist. Procedures at the clinic benefit, therefore, from expertise in both the physical and psychological aspects of ketamine therapy. This is not something which is not offered at all such clinics.

Ketamine is a widely-trusted anesthetic in pediatric and emergency situations. Often talked about as an illicit party drug, recent research into ketamine suggests that IV treatments at sub-anesthetic doses “might be the most important breakthrough in antidepressant treatment in decades.”

The West Coast Ketamine Center clinic is run by psychiatrist Dr. Botkiss and anesthesiologist Dr. Gillin. Both have extensive experience treating a variety of mood disorders. Conditions that can be treated with ketamine therapy include Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, and migraines.

Ketamine serves as an alternative to mainstream oral medications, as it is a fast-acting antidepressant that can show positive benefits only hours after an infusion.

For those whose experience with other antidepressants has been disappointing, ketamine treatments at West Coast Ketamine Center offer an “innovative, cutting edge and effective treatment” for difficult to manage conditions.

Your Treatment: What to Expect

Ketamine infusions take place at the West Coast Ketamine Center clinic. Infusions typically take 40 minutes, though pain treatments may take significantly longer. Ketamine treatments run a course of six infusions, administered over a 2-3 week period in quiet, comfortable treatment rooms.

Some patients report floating or dissociative sensations, though these are normal and resolve within a half hour of treatment. During the procedure, a certified anesthesiologist monitors the patient.

Who is this treatment for?

West Coast Ketamine Center ketamine treatments are designed with sufferers of chronic and/or treatment-resistant conditions in mind. Individuals who have had little success with mainstream medications have a safe and research-driven alternative to turn to in ketamine treatments.

As part of a wide-ranging treatment plan, ketamine decreases “depressive symptoms in about 70 percent of patients” after the first infusion.
