She and her team at the Spring Center of Hope pride themselves on their compassionate and accommodating approach to care. Being able to provide hope and healing to people who have been through various treatments without relief is one of the most rewarding aspects of Dr. Praag’s career, and she hopes to continue helping as many people as she can using breakthrough ketamine treatments.

Your Treatment: What to Expect

You’ll first briefly discuss your history and your interest in ketamine therapy with Spring Center of Hope. If the treatment looks like a possible fit for you, the clinic will schedule a free 15-minute consult with Dr. Van Praag, either in person or by phone.

Once you’re approved to undergo ketamine infusion therapy, you’ll head to Spring Center of Hope’s offices for your first infusion. Each ketamine infusion will be administered by Dr. Van Praag, a practicing anesthesiologist with over 14 years of experience administering anesthesia, including ketamine, who is highly skilled at treating and monitoring patients and managing complications that may arise. You’ll also be closely monitored by a registered nurse with experience in critical care and infusion therapy.

The first 15-20 minutes of your infusion, you may have no noticeable effects. Halfway through the infusion most patients begin to experience feelings described as euphoria, floating, heightened perceptions, feeling disconnected, or in a dream. These feelings will subside quickly once the infusion is complete. You should anticipate that the entire process will take approximately 90 minutes (longer for chronic pain infusions).

Patients typically begin with a series of 6 infusions over the course of 2 to 3 weeks. This means patients will often return for 1 or 2 booster infusions every 1-3 months.
