What is ketamine therapy?

Ketamine therapy involves taking a sub-anesthetic dose of ketamine in a clinical, supervised setting. It is useful for treating both mood and chronic pain conditions.

When you undergo ketamine therapy, you can have a single infusion or multiple infusions. Many studies on ketamine treatment for depression find good results using a round of six infusions, and most ketamine clinics follow this protocol. You will receive ketamine at a clinic via either intravenous (IV) or intramuscular (IM) infusion, although the former is the most common route of administration.

Who is ketamine therapy for?

Those who have not been helped by conventional treatment strategies have another option with ketamine treatments. Research in the last 7-10 years has shown that ketamine infusions are effective for those suffering from treatment-resistant mental health conditions and chronic pain conditions. Either as an alternative to or a supplement to mainstream treatments, ketamine infusions offer an alternative path to healing for those who have lost hope.
