Important Information

  • Paired therapy
    • Although Ballen Medical & Wellness offers psychiatry and therapy, many ketamine clients have outside psychiatrists or therapists. If that’s the case, Dr. Ballen works with your doctor or other practitioner to incorporate the ketamine infusions into your current treatment plan.
  • Oral Medication
    • Ketamine infusion therapy works both as a standalone treatment and in conjunction with oral depression medication. If you’re already taking oral medication, Ballen Medical & Wellness typically has you continue your oral medication during your ketamine infusion series. However, individual cases may vary.
    • In cases where a previously effective depression medication has ceased working, ketamine can act as a reset, enabling your medication to work again after your ketamine series.
    • If you haven’t yet started oral medication, ketamine therapy can provide immediate relief to help you while you perform your trials of oral depression medication.

What to Expect at Ballen Medical & Wellness

Pre-Appointment

  • You’ll first take part in an in-person evaluation to determine if the treatment is appropriate for you. The clinic will also present other options as well if the team feels they might be a better choice for your care.
  • After your evaluation, Ballen Medical & Wellness creates a treatment plan for you and schedules your infusions.
  • If you have a psychiatrist or a therapist, the clinic will collaborate with them to find the right program for you.

The Process

  • All IV drips are administered in the warm, comfortable environment of the clinic’s infusion suite.
  • Ketamine drips are prescribed either by the clinic’s founder Dr. Ballen or by nurse practitioner Leslie Vannucci, NP.
  • The infusions are then administered by a registered nurse, typically by the Director of IV Therapy, Tara Cox, RN, CRNI. As a Certified Nurse of Infusion, Tara holds the highest certification possible for IV nursing.
  • Most plans feature an average of 6 infusions in total, with a minimum of 3.

This place saved my life. Dr. Beth Ballen is different from every other doctor I’ve had. Every one of my previous doctors didn’t sincerely care for my health or well-being, were selfish with their time, or were just in it for the money. Dr. Ballen wasn’t. She truly cared for my health and happiness. I’ve been struggling with serious mental health problems for years. With Dr. Ballen’s expert psychiatry and after completing some IV infusions at Ballen Medical & Wellness, I was able to climb out of a very dark place. I felt immediate relief, and it was all thanks to Dr. Ballen, Danielle, Hannah, Quinn, Andrea, and the rest of the immensely caring, loving, and professional staff at Ballen Medical & Wellness. I recommend her and her business without any reservations whatsoever.
