Your Treatment: What to Expect at Big Sky Ketamine

Following a consultation and thorough mental health and physical examination, Big Sky Ketamine will work with your doctor to determine the best treatment for you.

Prior to your treatment, it is important that you do not consume any food at least 4 hours before your appointment and that you arrange for transportation on the day of your appointment. The clinic recommends that you wear comfortable clothing that allows staff to easily access your arms for treatment.

Ketamine is administered intravenously over a period of 40 minutes. You will remain awake during treatment but in a state of extreme relaxation. Your vital signs will be monitored during treatment for your safety and comfort. Patients sometimes report an ‘out of body’ experience of a sensation of ‘dreaminess,’ but these feelings fade 20 minutes after treatment.

The average course of ketamine infusion therapy consists of six treatment sessions over the course of 3 weeks. However, depending on your condition and symptoms, you may need additional treatments.

Who is this treatment for?

Those who have not been helped by conventional treatment strategies have another option with ketamine treatments at Big Sky Ketamine. Research in the last 7-10 years has shown that ketamine infusions are effective for those suffering from treatment-resistant mental health conditions and chronic pain conditions. Either as an alternative to or a supplement to mainstream treatments, ketamine infusions offer an alternative path to healing for those who have lost hope.
