Your Treatment: What to Expect

Before any ketamine infusions take place, patients will have an initial consultation at Braxia Health Ottawa. The consultation will help to determine the nature and severity of the treated condition, as well as the appropriate levels of medication. Infusion appointments take between 1.5 – 2 hours. During the infusion, some patients report a sense of dissociation, as if floating. This is a normal side effect, and should it become uncomfortable, clinic staff can adjust medications to help. A normal course of treatments is comprised of 4 -6 infusions over the course of 2 weeks.

Who is this treatment for?

Braxia Health Ottawa offers ketamine therapy for Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Depression, and, in some cases, to those suffering from PTSD or OCD. For those who have had little or no significant positive change from mainstream oral medications, ketamine therapy at Braxia Health Ottawa offers an alternative. When used in conjunction with therapy from a primary caregiver, ketamine therapy offers a way of overcoming the challenges associated with mental illness.
