Conditions Treated at Kadima Neuropsychiatry Institute:
Market Position: Kadima Neuropsychiatry Institute is one of the Spravato-certified ketamine providers in the San Diego metro on HealingMaps — a provider type eligible for commercial insurance prior authorization pathways that cash-pay IV clinics are not.
⚠ FDA-cleared indications for TMS therapy: treatment-resistant major depressive disorder (MDD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD, Deep TMS only), anxious depression, short-term smoking cessation, and adolescent MDD (ages 15–21). Use of TMS for other conditions including PTSD, bipolar depression, fibromyalgia, and other indications is off-label — not currently FDA-cleared for those specific indications. Discuss your condition with the clinic to understand insurance coverage and clinical evidence.
This 4-question summary covers the most common patient questions for ketamine clinics in San Diego, California. Editorial responses are HealingMaps-authored, grounded in our 2026 Ketamine Clinic Intelligence Report.
Kadima Neuropsychiatry Institute offers verified ketamine therapy services in San Diego. Specific protocols can include IV ketamine infusion, IM ketamine injection, oral troches, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP), or Spravato (FDA-approved esketamine) — verify the specific protocol mix with the clinic during your consult call. Multi-protocol practices typically offer more flexibility for matching the modality to your diagnosis and insurance coverage.
Treatment-resistant depression (TRD) — typically defined as failure on two or more antidepressant trials — is the most common qualifier for ketamine therapy and the FDA-approved indication for Spravato. Patients meeting that bar are typical candidates at ketamine clinics like Kadima Neuropsychiatry Institute. If insurance coverage matters, ask whether they offer Spravato (insurance-covered for TRD) versus IV ketamine (typically self-pay).
Most ketamine clinics treat PTSD and anxiety alongside depression — these three conditions account for ~46% of HealingMaps patient inquiries. Some clinics also treat chronic pain (CRPS, fibromyalgia, neuropathic pain), though pain protocols differ from mental-health protocols (longer infusion times, higher doses). Ask Kadima Neuropsychiatry Institute which specific conditions they treat most often and how their protocols differ by indication.
Compare ketamine clinics in San Diego, California on three axes: (1) protocol mix — multi-protocol clinics offer flexibility; (2) clinical lead — psychiatrist-led clinics typically include KAP integration, anesthesiologist-led clinics typically focus on infusion; (3) insurance posture — Spravato-certified providers can run insurance coverage; cash-only IV clinics cannot. Kadima Neuropsychiatry Institute’s positioning on these axes determines whether it’s the right fit for your specific diagnosis and budget.
This clinic provides three FDA-cleared interventional psychiatry options: ketamine therapy, Spravato (esketamine), and TMS therapy. TMS sessions take 19 to 37 minutes (or 3 minutes for the iTBS protocol), with no anesthesia, sedation, or controlled-substance handling. This clinic uses BrainsWay Deep TMS, the only TMS device with standalone FDA clearance for OCD via the H7 coil. April 2, 2025 at 7:53 pmI have done my homework and you guys are by far and beyond the best operation I have seen for what I am looking for. Now, I am working on a “Single Case Agreement” as you don’t accept my insurance with Central Health. By the way, I am finding that getting treatment for mental health is much easier and better for individuals who are not 65+ Social Security which doesn’t seem fair. My plan is to get treatment with Psilocybin maybe in TJ or elsewhere in Mexico or perhaps going to Oregon as I am a Duck. Finally, wherever I get treatment, I am happy to share everything I learn about the process with you guys with the idea of helping others in my shoes.

February 18, 2025 at 12:41 amDr. Feifel and the staff at Kadima are wonderful. It really feels like everyone is on your team and wanting you to feel better. It is a very supportive environment and the space is beautiful and well thought out. Although ketamine didnt work well for me, the doctors offered an alternative plan using TMS therapy and that really helped with my treatment resistant depression.
