The Soltara Healing Center is located along the beautiful coastline of Costa Rica. It is an ayahuasca retreat center providing new hope with issues related to trauma, mental illness, or otherwise blocked potential. They are shipibo healers. Which means they hail from Peru’s Amazonian Ucayali region. And have been practicing plant medicine for decades. (They work in conjunction with clinical psychologists to give you the indigenous and the western scientific experience.) The center operates using ancient shamanic principles of connection, such as the mind-body connection and the human-to-nature connection.

In direct contrast to modern medicine, the team at Soltara Healing Center uses plant medicines like ayahuasca to allow a person to take control of their mental health treatment. From here, they’re able to identify the root cause and offer healing. The parts that remain hidden in the mind that can lead to chronic illness. And these are often brought to light during an ayahuasca experience.

These new types of alternative drugs are leading a revolution into mental health healing. In fact, some studies even show that having a bad trip on psychedelics can be beneficial. Of course, because of the sensitive subject matter, self-medicating these drugs is not recommended, so always seek help from medical professionals.

Are You Ready for an Ayahuasca Retreat?

Attending an ayahuasca retreat can be a very moving and powerful experience. It is always recommended to do as much research and ask as many questions as possible before getting on a plane. Always call any retreat before putting down a deposit. Email is great, but it’s always great to speak to a person. And scour the Internet for discussion groups. While you shouldn’t trust everything you read on the Internet, it’s good to get a sense of the discussions. Take the individual reviews with a grain of salt. But is the tone positive or negative? Are there a lot of reviews? Are there general themes that emerge? (Both good and bad.) Do your homework and you will feel much more confident going into a retreat experience.
