HealingMaps Take: JD Psychiatry stands out for combining ketamine therapy with full-spectrum psychiatric care. Having a board-certified psychiatrist directly overseeing both medication management and ketamine treatment means patients get truly integrated care rather than a standalone infusion experience. The Financial District location is easily accessible and the practice has strong patient ratings.
Market Position: JD Psychiatry is a Spravato-certified clinic in the metro. Spravato (esketamine) is the FDA-approved ketamine treatment that most commercial insurance plans cover after prior authorization — unlike cash-pay IV ketamine.

This 5-question summary is matched to the protocols and conditions JD Psychiatry treats. Editorial responses are HealingMaps-authored, grounded in our 2026 Ketamine Clinic Intelligence Report.
JD Psychiatry offers Spravato and IV ketamine — a 2-protocol practice. Patients can switch between or combine modalities without changing providers. Confirm specific dosing schedules and which protocols are recommended for your condition during your consult.
Yes — JD Psychiatry offers Spravato, which means they’re FDA REMS-certified and maintain the required two-hour in-office monitoring window after each dose. Spravato is the primary insurance-covered ketamine option for treatment-resistant depression. Worth confirming the prior-authorization timeline before booking your first session.
JD Psychiatry treats depression via Spravato (FDA-approved for TRD), and IV ketamine (off-label, evidence-based). The Spravato pathway is the most likely to obtain commercial insurance coverage. TRD is typically defined as two or more prior antidepressant trials without sufficient response — patients meeting that bar are best candidates here.
Yes — JD Psychiatry treats PTSD. Both Spravato and IV ketamine can be used for trauma. Ketamine for trauma differs from depression treatment: dosing is often lower per session, and pairing the protocol with trauma-focused therapy between sessions is common. A reasonable consult question: whether PTSD patients here typically use ketamine alone or alongside an outside therapist.
Yes — JD Psychiatry treats anxiety, including generalized anxiety, social anxiety, and panic disorder. The evidence base for ketamine in anxiety is less robust than for depression, but it can be a meaningful option for patients who haven’t responded to SSRIs or benzodiazepines. Worth asking which of their protocols they typically recommend for anxiety-primary patients.

April 21, 2022 at 11:11 pmDr. Ditzell has one of the coolest psychiatry practices in New York City. His Ketamine Lounge is cool and comforting. Hue lights, soft music, and modern furnishing are the first thing that you see when you walk into the place.
Doesn’t look anything like the other sterile and boring office spaces you usually see. Very inviting!
