Life Synergy Retreat hosts five-day, four-night psilocybin retreats in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, for small groups of up to 11 adults. Founder and lead facilitator Juan Rendon has run Life Synergy retreats since 2013 and, the retreat says, is in the room for every ceremony. Life Synergy describes the program as a wellness and ceremonial experience, not medical treatment.

The five-day psilocybin retreat
Each retreat centers on two facilitated psilocybin ceremonies, one in nature and one in a traditional temazcal, with facilitators present throughout. The days around them include sunrise yoga, breathwork, a cenote visit and integration time. All meals are included, and every guest gets a one-to-one integration call after returning home. Depending on the dates, the group stays at a boutique hotel or a jungle villa.
Screening and safety
Every guest completes a health and medication questionnaire and a discovery call before being accepted, and no deposit is taken before that. Life Synergy asks guests to disclose every medication and supplement, especially SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOIs, lithium and heart or blood-pressure medication, and not to stop or change any medication without their prescriber. Dr. Mauricio José Bussoli, MD, supports the day-one medical Q&A and the screening.
Life Synergy says it follows a local emergency protocol and that continuous on-site physician coverage is not guaranteed. It notes that the temazcal’s heat and steam aren’t suitable for everyone, including during pregnancy or with heart conditions or low blood pressure. Retreats are for adults 18 and older and are run in English.
Prices
Shared room (two guests traveling together): from $1,950 per person
Private ensuite room: $2,300 per person
Included: accommodation, all meals, ceremonies and scheduled activities, transport to activities, and the integration call
Not included: airfare, airport transfers (Life Synergy can arrange one), extra hotel nights and personal purchases
Once you’re accepted, a non-refundable deposit secures your room, and the balance is due two days before the retreat or on arrival. Life Synergy says direct-booking payments can be moved as credit to any future Life Synergy retreat. It publishes retreat dates on its site, including a New Year retreat and a Mushroom + Music edition.

Life Synergy’s site notes that Mexican federal law lists psilocybin as a controlled substance, while recognizing the traditional ceremonial use of sacred mushrooms by Indigenous and Afro-Mexican communities.
