Advanced Infusion and Wellness Center in Wichita, Kansas is a newly remodeled facility that provides ketamine therapy to Wichita and the surrounding area. Offering both intravenous and nasal spray treatment options in a private and comfortable setting, the clinic’s expert staff are ready to provide hope and health to those suffering from difficult to treat conditions. Whether chronic physical pain or negatively impacting mental health conditions, ketamine infusion therapy has been clinically proven to provide safe and effective relief.
Among the many skilled experts at the Advanced Infusion and Wellness Center is Dr. Sonia Slaba, whose interest in ketamine treating mental health disorders is a personal one. After years of trying different medications, Dr. Slaba’s brother took his own life as a result of complications due to depression. With ketamine’s reputation for helping even the hardest to treat problems, Dr. Slaba is excited to bring these treatments to the Wichita area and to hopefully help those suffering from the sorts of problems that led her brother to take his own life.
Ultimately, the AIWC team “believes in providing a positive, individualized experience” for every patient.
Prior to beginning infusions, clients undergo a full physical and mental health screening. If no contraindications are found, either in pre-existing conditions or in current medications, infusions proceed based on the condition to be treated.
The initial dose is based on several individual factors and may be adjusted with later infusions to maximize patients’ results. The infusion duration for most conditions will be 40 minutes, but may last up to 4 hours for some chronic pain syndromes.
Patients often describe the infusion as relaxing, noting a floating sensation. Others feel some anxiety or disorientation. Trained experts are on hand throughout the procedure to adjust medication levels and to help patients through potentially difficult parts of the treatment. Side effects dissipate soon after infusion ends.
Patients will be required to stay for a 30-45 minutes recovery time after the infusion. Patients must have an adult to drive them home after the appointment and cannot drive or operate heavy machinery for 24 hours post-treatment
Ketamine infusions function as part of a treatment plan or as an alternative to unsuccessful treatments for those whose conventional therapies or medications have had little or no effect on mental and physical health conditions. By increasing glutamate production, and by “resetting” pain signal receptors, ketamine offers hope and health to those dealing with difficult to manage problems.
