Your Treatment: What to expect

A wide-ranging mental and physical health screening dictates to both physician and client how the KAP will proceed. Subsequently, ketamine is administered intravenously over the course of 45 minutes, or, in the case of the Spravato treatment, nasally under physician supervision. As the IV ketamine begins to take effect, patients will often experience feelings of lightness and slight dissociation. In the event that the patient experiences any negative side effects, a Ketamine Health Center expert in ketamine delivery is constantly monitoring the patient. A return to normality and regular thought processes occurs some 15 minutes after the end of intravenous infusion.

Who is this treatment for?

Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy is part of a treatment that also includes traditional mainstream therapies. KAP offers a further option for patients who have engaged with these traditional therapies, but have found their mood conditions or chronic pain has been resistant to traditional mainstream therapies. Though not required, general practitioners can refer patients to West Palm Beach Ketamine Health Center. Further, clients undergoing KAP should remain in any prior mainstream psychiatric consultations. However, if a client has no regular therapist, the West Palm Beach Ketamine Health Center can offer referrals.
